Description

Blunt's voice is quite the acquired taste, and nothing on here really stands out or connects from a thematic or lyrical standpoint. Although not the best of Blunts albums to date he has improved with each release, this being the second of his four studio albums. Same Mistake' (which was performed before an audience of billions at Live Earth) and the dazzling `I Really Want You'. Kerri Mason, reviewing for Billboard, gave the album a positive review, saying that Blunt "shows the abandon and confidence of a long-term artist, not just a one-hit wonder".

In other words, he still adheres to the Gray template the second time around, but he opens things up slightly with some spacy textures reminiscent of Coldplay and a heavy dose of classic popcraft" and finished the review saying "This makes All the Lost Souls soothing, not haunting. Why go for Blunt's dehydrated instant fix of heartache when you can luxuriate in the deeply moving work of a Jose Gonzalez or Ray LaMontagne? Two or three of these tracks are reasonably catchy and uplifting, in a Chris-Martin-on-an-off-day kinda way. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Love, Love, Love" was released as the second single from the deluxe edition of the album, charting in many countries.Je réalise" was released as the first single from the deluxe edition of the album, exclusively in France. A dynamic, immaculate, back-to-basics LP of addictive melodies and distinctive vocals, it features 10 brand new tracks, including the rousing lead single `1973'. A with his acclaimed live band - keyboardist Paul Beard, guitarist Ben Castle, bassist Malcolm Moore, and drummer Karl Brazil - `All The Lost Souls' is inspired by the iconic sounds of the `70s.

The anthemic 'Shine On' is exquisitely crafted while 'I Can't Hear the Music' hooks into your brain with its James Bond-style orchestration" and finished saying "But snobbery apart, this is a terrific album. Although I owned nearly all versions of this album this was one I missed until now, playing through a great DVD player and an amp with some quality speakers the DVD quality shines through. Faced with a slew of angry Bluntophiles baying about the fact that we're snobs/haven't listened to the album more than once/don't understand his poor sensitive soul, what can you say? On the UK Singles Chart, the song peaked at number four, despite being at number one on the Airplay charts. In Argentina, Australia, Canada, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy and the UK, the album peaked at number one on the album charts. After an hour of listening to it exclaim platitudes and clichés over plucked strings and Elton-lite keys, drowning kittens seems like a really fine way to spend the afternoon. If all you know James for is Your Beautiful, you need to have a listen to this album, yes there are still some beautiful moments on here but all in all James Blunt knew he had far more in his locker to come. James Blunt - one of the most successful British artists this decade - is back with his first album in 3 years.

He is a true artist and gentleman who puts his fans first giving all who support him a great evening whether you are at his concerts or listening to a fine album such as All The Lost Souls, SUPERB! Raccolta fondamentale per chi vuole conoscere i retroscena dei video e gli episodi di vita che hanno ispirato le canzoni di James Blunt. Listening to it again James Blunt shows what a quality artist he really is, superb writing is his forte and his voice can never be mistaken, a true one off he deserves every accolade he receives.

The cover consists of hundreds of pictures of Blunt (from childhood to recent) which forms a photomosaic of his face. Moving slowly away from the laboured tracks of the first album, there are some superb uplifting tracks here, James proving he can provide a beat, more electric guitar than he is really comfortable with at this stage, but it doesn't show in the recordings themselves. Don't be fooled by those who scorn him as a one hit wonder or say he only appeals to the young girls known for following him around the world making sure they are in the front row at every show. But being urged by the posh ex-Army tyke to 'shine on' ("Shine On") and told that we're listening to 'the sound of my breaking heart' ("I Really Want You") frankly doesn't hold much water next to such inadvertently hilarious clunkers as 'Why don't you give me your love?
