Price is very hard to beat and even if you do get other pads theyre still cheaper than some budget headphones. Different length cables is a nice bonus too. If you do manage to break them then it wont cost much to replace them. Comfort-wise, the N650 has softer earpads but they sit more on the ears rather than around the ears like on the HD668B. Both headphones are initially comfortable but I find my ears need a rest with either one after 1 – 2 hours. At this price, this is a no-brainer. People are preferring it above the K701. The more I listen to it the more it sounds like I'm listening to the music and not to a headphone. Still belonging to the cheaper price category, you can’t really go wrong with them if you’re looking for an easy budget-friendly solution. Price & Value For Money: Bottom Line To be fair, it’s not much of a surprise. But on the other hand, their build quality is decent enough, pretty comparable to the Samson headset as well. Superlux HD-668 B – Thomann UK

These pads are easily removable, so you can replace them if they get worn or you can get some third-party alternatives for added comfort. Thanks so much for bringing headphone users information about the Superlux HD668B. I still can't believe these are not talked about more often elsewhere. Both will be okay with Benjie S5 mp3 player right? which is noted to have Headphone output: 16-128Ω Now, neither of these are super-portable. However, we’d give a slight advantage to Samson’s SR850. The way they’re built not only helps you save some space, but they’re also a bit more resistant to rougher handling. Therefore, this one goes to Samson. Talking about Superlux’s HD668B, these are a bit different. Sure, the frequency range that they cover is the same, going from 10 to 30000 Hz, but the distribution of frequencies tells a different story. They also have a more friendly tonality, as the treble energy is greatly reduced. They actually sound rather dark, compared to the other Superluxes. On a side note, it is quite surprising to hear that the Superlux costs more in Taiwan. Yes it is a Taiwanese brand, and it should be cheaper there. Perhaps you didn't find a good store? Samson has done a pretty great job with their SR850 headphones. Honestly, they seem like they belong to a more expensive category. To be fair, we’re having a hard time determining whether we like the Superlux HD668B design or not. It’s not bad, but it kind of looks weird. When it comes to portability, Samson’s SR850 are okay and won’t bring you much trouble. They’re light and are somewhat flexible, which comes in handy for transport.

Superlux HD 668B Review - Headfonia Reviews

They have a neutral monitoring sound, so that may sound boring to some people who prefers colorations. 🙂 When it comes to Superlux HD668B and their comfort, we’re talking about a pretty decent set of headphones. They’re padded pretty well and their earcups are large enough to get everyone covered. No, the difference is not big. However, the 668B sounds a bit more balanced and warmer, at least for my taste. I already have the U100 and I’m really happy with it. For 50-60s jazz I use Creative Aurvana Live! (sound a bit like Denon D2000, in case you don’t know them). I’m going to use Superlux with piano, organ and string music, and some of the really well recorded jazz albums. Both the 1-metre and 3-metre extensions terminate in a straight 3.5mm plug which is perfect for connecting to a mobile phone, portable DAP or computer. There’s also the included 6.35mm adapter if required to plug into a desktop amplifier. Mike, how is this compare to higher price headphones like AD700 and my HD595? From your praises, I can't help but think this thing even easily beat those. Looking for budget phone too, how this compared to Sennheiser HD 202 II, Panasonic HTX7 in term of SQ? However the AD700 is great with its open and spacious sound. The HD668B feels noticeably more closed than the AD-series. Hey, actually Dhani wrote that one. HD668B is really good sounding. Detail, clarity, punchy bass. Typical monitoring sound.

I want to buy those pairs but I dont know how they sound, im hearing to dubstep music , house , are they good for these art of music? That being said, there are some things that stand out that should give you pause. For example, the way Superlux granted its HD668B the ability to have removable cables is certainly a head-scratcher, as a male connection on a wire is much more susceptible to breakage than the more common female connection in the housing. Additionally, they include a clip to hold the cable and the connection together, but that just puts even more pressure on the weakest point of the headphones in the event of a tug. Electronic and Dance (especially dance) tend to be very treble happy. The HD668B likewise has a lot of treble. It’s not going to be nice combining the two.

Superlux HD668B: Budget-Friendly Studio Samson SR850 vs. Superlux HD668B: Budget-Friendly Studio

Hey, thanks for this nice review, couldnt find any other real review@intrawebz so wanted to ask – how good or bad would these be as monitoring headphones? Im in search for budget production headphones, cant afford monitor speakers yet. I was looking@ Audio Technica ATH-M50 before i found these. Comparable? I always feel that the AKG K240 is quite flat and boring, even the Sextett version which I had for a while. I definitely prefer the HD668B to the K240.That’s not too shabby considering the price you’re paying. Having the two cables provided is really something I wasn’t expecting but it’s very appreciated and also a very practical addition. At this point, just seeing my first glimpse of the headphones and the two cables, I was already thinking what great value this is. any headphones u can recommend me that use ex1000 as reference? recommend apart from dr150 or superlux also is fine by me 🙂 Sorry mike, since i am noob, how do u explain “musically engaging”? Can u please explain to me in terms of the bass, mids & treble? I find these are a real sleeper. They are very easy to modify but sound very good unmod'd once broken in. Several others besides myself have modified them and discovered a real keeper in these headphones. The midrange has great tonality throughout. Lower mids are a hint lean but still have enough body so as not to sound hollow or too distant. The upper midrange is a little more upfront and can be a little edgy on occasion but having said that, it’s an area my ears are particularly sensitive to.
