About this deal

this is not only a lovely book to keep for yourself, but you can genuinely give this as the perfect gift to anyone, especially someone who thinks they have everyting. This is a great recipe book, but pretty far from traditional in terms of its content and layout, with chapter titles like ‘Comfort Food’ and ‘Slow and Low’. This book delivers on both those levels – there are delightful snippets of information woven into these recipes, making them just lovely to read.

tom has cooked every recipe in his home kitchen again and again before including it in this notebook.Tom's strange ideas concerning saturated fat - it would have been nice to see more 'low fat' workarounds in some of these recipes.

the recipies are easy, affordable and very easy to follow, and he makes me laugh with his great sense of humour. Brilliant recipes and with the added hand written notes make this book not only a great read but one of the best cookery books I’ve bought in years. In the Less Meat chapter, meat shares the limelight with other ingredients, and in Meat as Seasoning, scraps of beef, lamb, pork and chicken are eked out to give depth to a range of dishes. How difficult it is the navigate these recipes (the reference section at the back saved me, or I'd have plugged this thing so full of bookmarks it would have looked like a revision guide).A chapter on Comfort Food is packed with family favourites such as My Mum's Roast Chicken and Fish Goujons with Pea Puree. This is a great recipe book, but pretty far from traditional in terms of its content and layout, with chapter titles like 'Comfort Food' and 'Slow and Low'. Despite the fact that I don’t eat meat (and Tom has some amazing meat based dishes here – from grouse to oxtail) I found plenty that I intend to try out for myself: ‘Lemon Risotto’, ‘Hot Buttered Crab’, ‘Trifle’, ‘Shrimp Broth’ etc. While I wouldn't go that far (see above recipe reviews), I will say that we've eaten extremely well over the past month.

Tireless in pursuit of a good dinner, Tom Parker Bowles has eaten some of the best food in the world – and then recreated his favourite dishes in his own kitchen.Divided into playful sections like “Quick Fixes” and “Slow and Low”, from his mum (aka the Duchess of Cornwall)’s heavenly take on roast chicken to a fiery Asian noodle soup, it’s evident that Parker Bowles is an enthusiastic everyday gourmand—and his eagerness is infectious. Let’s Eat is an irresistible hotchpotch of delicious recipes; a trusty cookbook and a very good read.
