The heroine, Freya, is a 30-year old virgin. Normally, I do not like to read "virgin heroine vs man-wh*re hero" books so it was the reason I was reluctant to read this book for so long but then I had the book already on my Kindle so I said, “What the hell, let me at least try...” However, she is not only a 30-year old virgin, but she knows nothing about sex. Never masturbated, never read articles on it etc. She doesn’t even know some basic knowledge or certain vocabulary related to sex. We’ve met Maclay Logan and Freya Cook in previous Harris Brothers and spin-off books but we FINALLY get the story of these two Netflix-watching pals in Blindsided and it was FANTASTIC!And he may be the perfect sort of guy for the plan that she has been sitting on for over two years now. However when feelings make their final play, there is no amount of medicine in the whole world that is able to heal the damage done to their hearts. When Poppy McAdams was a child, she was just content in her own little make believe world. Until that boy next door with pained eyes and dimples barreled into her makeshift fort and demanded all of her attention. Up to that point, they’d been best friends for most their lives, and it all changes when Poppy leaves London abruptly to attend University. Mac clears his throat and angles toward me. His green eyes sparkle with mischief. “You got the Netflix part right, but the chill part is where you’re wrong. The youngsters have a secret meaning for the word.”

Also, one of my biggest pet peeves is when a character says “We don’t match, what will people think, I mean look how hot you are and how pudgy and plain I am. We can’t be seen together, not even as FRIENDS because of it” Best friends for most of their lives, everything changes when Poppy abruptly leaves London for University. He thought getting a second chance at life was difficult, but resisting the spark he feels with her will test all of his strength.Mac scoffs. “Why do you get all twitchy about your age, Cookie? Own it. I’m thirty-four, and you don’t see me moaning because I’m not young and braw anymore.” They have really supportive friends with positive messages as opposed to the friend telling them to settle or move on. For one, I am not a snob about national verbiage being perfect, but this book was really off the mark in trying to make the mcs sound like they were from the UK. It’s so weird because I never felt that way in any of this author’s other books, but for some reason all of the slang and expressions were clunky and kind of misused. Managing the building where they live is only one of Daphney’s many jobs. It’s why she has zero patience for the obnoxious American on the other side of the wall who makes the most ungodly noises and likes to answer his door in nothing but a pink tea towel.

Or would you let me finally have a look at it?” I state with exasperation. “If it still hurts this much, I think we should take you to A&E or at least have Indie or Belle come over to look at it. I read more than half of this monstrosity, and though the male narrator's accent was sexy af, I'd rather drink acid than continue this excuse of a 'romance'. Like sneak into a Tire Depot waiting room, because her words flow there just like complimentary coffee-smooth, sweet, and scorchingly hot. Freya is also a self deprecating person. She always talks about her body in an insulting way. She constantly emphasizes that she is not attractive due to her over-weight body. She keeps saying how she is not a good match for the athletic handsome hero. I didn’t enjoy the last moment of angst because the characters always have to have a fall out in the end and oh how annoying that part is. Really? Do we really need this?
