About this deal

I understand the point the author was trying to make (that Reid would love Lou despite all), but I didn't like this way of proving it. It felt completely forced.

Blood & Honey by Shelby Mahurin is the second book in the series and follows Lou Leblanc & Reid Diggory after the events of Serpent & Dove. This is a YA Fantasy story with a dark edge. Blood & Honey Book Review Ansel’s return: This was very special and gave the closure that many of us needed. I’m glad that his participation wasn’t forced and that he actually had a purpose. As night falls, Pooh and Piglet ambush Lara and slowly drive a car over her head. Piglet enters the cabin, killing Zoe. Maria and Jessica observe the duo taking Alice away and decide to rescue her. In Pooh's treehouse, they find and free Christopher, who directs them to another hostage, Charlene. Seeking revenge after Piglet mutilated her face, Charlene summons Piglet to kill him, but Piglet mauls her to death. Pooh chases Maria and Jessica into the woods, but Alice stays behind and bludgeons Piglet with his own sledgehammer, apparently fatally. Pooh impales Alice with a knife through her open mouth. You cannot say that in French, whether dialect your are speaking, it does not work. «Voir» (to see) is the infinite form. For each pronoun, the conjugated form is different that the infinitive. Emotionally, I am all over the place right now, so I know everything I say is going to come across as hyperbolic, but seriously, y’all… I cannot emphasize enough how much I absolutely LOVED Gods & Monsters. As this book has yet to come out, no need to worry about spoilers in this review!

Wanshel, Elyse (26 May 2022). "Slasher Film 'Winnie The Pooh: Blood And Honey' Shows Beloved Characters Gone 'Feral' ". HuffPost. Archived from the original on 26 May 2022 . Retrieved 27 May 2022. I hope no one is dissuaded from reading this book. I don't even know how to put into exact words that I loved this buuuut felt like it wasn't necessary. My hopes for the last book is that it makes up for this one. This is still one of my favourite series and I think Shelby will step up her game and blow us away. To elude the scores of witches and throngs of chasseurs at their heels, Lou and Reid need allies. Strong ones. But protection comes at a price, and the group is forced to embark on separate quests to build their forces. As Lou and Reid try to close the widening rift between them, the dastardly Morgane baits them in a lethal game of cat and mouse that threatens to destroy something worth more than any coven. The book was extremely predictable. I don't think there was anything that surprised me. It wasn't even that the foreshdowing was obvious or bad. The thing is there was no foreshadowing. Nothing. It just felt obvious from the start. It wouldn't take a genius to guess what happenes in more than 75% of the book. Usually something bad happens, they have to fix said bad thing, but oh no something gets in their way that they conveniently fix in less than five minutes. Lou and Reid take up to the masses of making me continuing the series. Even when (sadly) the romance has still not become the focus in the book as it did in Serpent and Dove, I still find myself enjoying seeing the character's arc in both of them; where they feel more like themselves than they did in Blood and Honey.

Serpent & Dove is still the best book in this series, but I did like this one. The last half made reading this book worth it after considering dnfing it in the first half, which I wasn't actually going to do because I hate dnfing books I spent money on. Gods & Monsters is a perfect ending to the series. It is full of action, funny and cute moments, love, and friendship, and it was a very entertaining and satisfactory ending to the series. In 2019, I bought and loved Serpent & Dove. It was not perfect, but it was the Fantasy Romance I was anticipating and it lived up to its premise of a witch/witch hunter romance and banter. The book was super fun and I was ecstatic about the sequel conclusion to what I thought was going to be a duology. I really appreciate the idea of trying to rekindle the same dynamics Lou and Reid had in the first book, I miss those Lou and Reid not gonna lie;Yep, I definitely agree with you. Watching Ansel suffer it made me feel a lot with him. Especially because Ansel was more likeable than other characters in my opinion. I felt like relating to him a lot, and the death of him was useless. He could have been kept alive, and him dying made me really, really sad. It is just so heavy, after watching Ansel getting tore apart in his own emotions.. you could tell that he truly desired to be a part of the world, too. He didn’t want to be an outsider and I really liked him for his personality, simple and sweet. Even when others would find his shyness annoying, I found it sweet. Maybe he was not perfect, but to me he was just a character that spoke to me the most. Because sometimes you can try so hard and go nowhere, your attempts go to sand. I really wanted him to get his happy ending, I feel like Ansel deserved it. And Ansel might have not been good in fighting or romance, but if written right, he could have been. That is what hurts the most, when a good character goes to a waste. Because he could have have a serious character improvement. And I think if the author did that, it would have been more intense to watch him change and become more confident. Ansel was not just useless like he thought, he needed someone that reminded him that no matter how small the impact was, he was someone meaningful to someone else, too.
